Greve de Lecq Community Survey

The first phase of the National Trust plan for the seaside café is an on-line survey and will be supported over the summer months with ‘drop in’ workshops at the site – so that everybody, young and old, local resident or visitor, can let them know what they would like to see at the site.

4insight has been commissioned by the National Trust for Jersey to run an independent survey about the Grève de Lecq site and its future, 4insight is a local, professional marketing research company. We are members of the research professional bodies: MRS, AQR and ESOMAR, and strictly abide by their Codes of Conduct to ensure your confidentiality, this includes complying with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 and GDPR.

The CEO of the National Trust for Jersey, Alan Le Maistre, has the following message:
The former Seaside café site at Grève de Lecq now belongs to the people of Jersey. This is an important milestone for our island as it recognises that our coastline, beaches and public amenities are spaces that should be protected for the enjoyment of everyone.
We understand that this site is of immense public interest and importance.

Once the site is owned by the Trust, we want to assure you that our priority will be to protect the public benefit of this space for all islanders and visitors.

The site is being gifted to the Trust, subject to the condition that we deliver environmental, cultural and social benefits for the public. There are many ways that this could be achieved and several initial decisions that need to be made.

This survey is the first stage of what we hope will be a constructive and progressive public consultation over the coming months. It aims to determine the public’s core requirements by asking high-level questions with clear and quantifiable outcomes. These outcomes will help inform the key elements of our eventual plans and set the tone for later stages of the consultation.

We are immensely excited by this opportunity. We already have the funding in place for some redevelopment of the site, but ultimately, the full scale and potential of our plans will be determined by the additional support that we receive. Together we have the chance to make this tired and neglected site into a beautiful, environmentally conscious space, with wonderful public amenities that will enhance Grève de Lecq now and into the future. Let’s create something special.
Thank you for your participation.
