Parish Notice – Paroisse de Ste Marie 2025

The Rates List of the above Parish may be inspected at the Parish Hall during the usual opening hours from Tuesday 6^th May 2025 to Friday 30^th May 2025, between 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday inclusive.  It is also available on the Parish website at www.stmary.je

The Assessors will be in attendance at the Parish Hall on the following dates to answer any queries relating to the assessments:

Wednesday 28^th May 2025- 2pm to 4pm

Thursday 29^th May 2025 – 6pm to 7.15pm

A formal application may be made to the Assessment Committee for a review of the rateable value of any land shown on the Rates List.

An application for a Review:

• Must be submitted on the approved form available from the Parish Hall or online – https://stmary.je/about-rates/
• If requesting a Review of the Rateable Value must provide details of other land in the Island with similar attributes where there is a significant difference (10% of the Rateable Value of the land in question or 500 rateable quarters whichever is the greater), and
• If requesting a Review of the assessment of Domestic/Non-domestic rates must provide details of the current use of the property, and
• Must be made on or before Tuesday 27^th May 2025 to the Assessment Committee at the Parish Hall.

An appeal against a draft assessment may only be made after a Review has been undertaken.

Notice is also given that in accordance with Article 11(4) of the Rates (Jersey) Law 2005 that once the Rates List has been approved by the Supervisory Committee it becomes the Rates List of the Parish for that rateable year.
