You know it’s happening – but what’s on where?
10.00 – A service at St Mary’s Church 10.00 am
11.00 – The planting of the Oak tree taking place in the old cemetery
12.00 – The community centre will be open for refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits) in the hall
12.00 – 13.00 The Optimistic Trio will be singing in the hall
12.00 onwards – the Honorary police will be providing free burgers and sausages (in baps) from the BBQ outside, sauces provided, next to St Mary’s Country Pub mobile bar. You will be able to eat these sat in the hall or in the picnic area. Please bring any extras you may want to add. We won’t have an unlimited number of burgers or sausages, please be aware if you’re late, you may be unlucky!
We also have an ice cream van on hand outside for cool refreshment.
12.00 onwards – there are two bouncy castles plus children’s entertainment outside.
12.00 onwards – Richard Curtis will have his miniature model railway working
13.00 onwards – Memorabilia will be displayed at the top of the stairs in the Community Centre supplied by Sarah Johnson.
13.00 onwards – Ivor’s Carriage rides will be taking place at the front of St Mary’s School. £1 per child, £2 per adult
13.00 onwards – Try Archery – £5 for 5 arrows and a bit of free instruction. All proceeds going to the Jersey Archery Team that are raising funds for their trip to Orkney for the Island Games.
13.30 – The dog show. Vet Adele and our Constable will judge five classes with Cory-Lee from Ballantrae Village vets the compere offering us information and results during the classes. Who will be the best biscuit catcher? Who most looks like their owner and who can wait the longest with a juicy bit of sausage in front of them?
During the afternoon we have the opening of the Skate park and tug of war.
14.30 – Afternoon tea upstairs in the Community Centre. Lots of cake available from many of our Parishioners who have kindly volunteered to bake. We also have two cakes arriving, a donation from Le Mare Vineyards. The lovely ladies of Saturday lunches will have fresh sandwiches to go with the cake.
14.30 – Whilst you grab a slice of cake, we are thrilled to welcome Stuart Gillies to sing to us hot off his set with the Big Band at the Liberation day event on the 9th.
15.15 – Our very own Community Choir will provide a selection of music from the Occupation days along with some other classics for everyone to sing along to.
