Beach cleaning

For anyone interested in keeping our island beaches clean, we do have a Beach Clean Box at the Parish Hall that is available for use.

Anyone can clean a beach in Jersey.  However, if you are organising a group of people to beach clean, or creating a public event – there may be additional requirements.  Please see the following Government of Jersey information for further guidance – Organise a beach cleaning event (gov.je)

Please ensure you check the relevant tide timetables Tide Times – St. Helier | Jersey Met (gov.je)

The community beach clean box can be used on lanes and parks, as well as beaches!

If you register you beach/lanes/park clean with Surfers Against Sewage and complete the relevant risk assessment, you are automatically covered by their insurance.

Each Community Beach Clean box contains the following –  1 x Community beach clean box, 4 x buckets, 3 x upcycled tubs, 1 x reusable sack, a first aid box, a sharps box, hand sanitiser and 20 pairs of gloves in varying sizes.  PLEASE ENSURE THESE ARE CHECKED BACK INTO THE BEACH CLEAN BOX AT END OF USE.

Please note that use of the Community Beach Clean box is entirely at your own risk.

Please let Plastic Free Jersey know some details about your use of the Community Beach Clean box by completing this short survey – https://forms.office.com/r/dcK977AqSx and share photos of where you cleaned and what you found on @plasticfreejersey on Facebook and Instagram, or email [email protected]
